We accept demos on DAT, CD, mini-disc or cassette tape.
If you submit a demo with multiple tracks then you
should clearly mark the track(s) which you would like us to
assess. Please note that if you submit multiple tracks for assessment
on a cassette tape then they should be located consecutively on the tape
and the tape should be cued to the first song. If you would like your
demos returned then please ensure you enclose a stamped addressed
envelope.
You do not have to spend thousands of pounds in a top
studio to record your demos! The most important factor is that the music
comes across well. However, whilst home recordings are fine for our
purposes, you should ensure that the recording quality does not make
listening painful (e.g. "I can't make out the lead vocal due to
tape hiss!").
Remember, we may play your music to our music industry contacts so spend a
bit of time making it as good as you can.
If your submission contains vocals then it would help
us considerably if you send us a lyric sheet.
Also, if you are submitting music as (or on behalf of) an unsigned artist or
band then we strongly recommend that you send us one or two
accompanying pictures.
